Llew Jones Gives Local Young Person The Opportunity To Follow His Dream
Having undertaken work experience at Llew Jones, Derw Forster is starting a 6-month period of employment as a Trainee Mechanic under the Jobs Growth Wales+ programme. Derw has always been interested in becoming a mechanic and this is a major step towards his goal. He plans to save part of his first few month’s wages to buy a 50cc motorbike to travel to and from work independently.
We would like to thank Careers Wales and North Wales Training for helping to make this possible – the wage subsidy is invaluable, and we hope that the foundational knowledge provided by our senior mechanic and Derw’s mentor Colin Shaw, will lead to a permanent job offer and progression to a full mechanical apprenticeship.
We believe that in-house training is a real part of the solution to the shortage of mechanics in North Wales and are pleased to offer young people a great start in a highly skilled, challenging and rewarding profession.
