Llew Jones Secures Heavy Maintenance & Repair Apprenticeship For Local Young Person
Over the last 12 months Felix Pidgeon of Penmachno, has worked hard in support of the Workshop and Yard teams at Llew Jones, demonstrating a flair for mechanical repair work and a desire to learn and develop his skills and knowledge. Working with Coleg Menai, Llew Jones put Felix forward for a mechanical engineering apprenticeship, focusing on heavy maintenance and repair – Felix has been accepted and starts college next month. Felix also recently passed his driver theory test and is hoping to pass his practical test soon so that he can drive to college for his day release.
Llew Jones’ ability to offer apprenticeships would not be possible without our senior mechanic – Colin Shaw, and his commitment to mentoring young people. We believe that in-house training is a real part of the solution to the shortage of mechanics in North Wales and we are pleased to offer young people a great start in a highly skilled, challenging and rewarding profession.
